The supplies I used were tracing paper that I drew my designs on. Then balsa foam to cut my design into using an x-acto knife. I then used a carving tool to make the design deeper so the clay could fit in the design. I also used a rolling pin to evenly press the clay into the foam block. This process is pretty easy you start by rolling out about a half inch slab of clay. you then put your carved out balsa foam design facing up. Then laying the clay on top use a rolling pin to press the clay in and also use the pin to roll it down the sides creating the walls of the piece. You then slowly pull the foam out of the clay. Smooth out the sides and bottom to make sure its all connected. Do not touch design it will ruin it and you will have to start over. I learned That the clay needs to be pretty thick so you don't press all the way through the clay and the lines in the design need to be pretty deep and wide for the clay to fit. The glazes I used were lilac, clear, and wisteria purple. For one of the pieces I mixed the lilac and wisteria to make the color of the design and border.
